The next programme "Ambiente em Família" is aimed at taking family and friends on a visit to the natural surroundings at Porto City Park, on 10 March, at 9 am, to observe bird species.

Groups (children accompanied by adults) should gather next to the Centre for Environmental and Rural Education of the City Park. The activity will be guided by Sérgio Bruno Ribeiro from Biomater - Environment, Sustainability and Nature Conservation.

Birdwatching, or birding, is a recreational activity of a form of wildlife observation. It raises awareness on the need to protect our natural environment as well as actions that one can take to help preserve plants, animals and natural habitats.

As springtime approaches, different bird species migrate to their reproduction sites in Portugal, as is the case of swallows.
