Tourists and travellers arriving at Porto Airport are being gifted camellias! And this is not by chance! In fact, Porto is the city of camellias, although this flower originated from Asia, it was in this city that it found gardens and fallow lands to bloom back in the 19th century!

Everyone arriving at Porto Airport is also given a roadmap on where to find this winter flower, namely gardens and patios in the city, in public spaces, in cemeteries.

The Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport has been decorated with numerous types of camellias as all landmark buildings and monuments in the city, including the Torre dos Clérigos, the Lello Bookshop, The Palácio da Bolsa, the Casa do Infante, the train stations of São Bento and Campanhã, the Majestic and Guarany Cafés.

This activity is part of the Camellias Exhibition in Porto, which takes place on 3 and 4 march at the Mosteiro de São Bento da Vitória.
