Porto Municipality is present at the Smart Cities Innovation Summit Asia 2017

This is the first time that Porto Municipality is taking part in the Smart Cities Innovation Summit Asia 2017. The event takes place between today and Friday, 8 September, at KINTEX, the impressive International Congress Centre of South Korea, in the city of Goyang.

Porto is represented by Porto Digital. The Portuguese delegation will attend the summit and it already has a series of arranged meetings, in the framework of the ScaleUp Porto, with the support of AICEP and Invest Porto as well, aiming at promoting Porto as an innovative and sustainable city.

Over 200 delegations from different cities and from 57 countries participate in this summit. Porto puts forward its "living lab" impelled by a proactive strategy that involves knowledge and culture.

As a smart city, Porto boosts its "investigation, involvement and capacity building", by inviting participants to identify the city's existing know-how and innovation and both citizens and companies' empowerment.

The best practices, success cases, businesses and innovative projects are a reality in the city of Porto, with a significant impact in people's quality of life, job creation, public service efficiency and most of all, promoting knowledge sharing and transforming the city by everyone, at a cultural, entrepreneurial, academic and government levels to cope with the main challenges that the city is facing.

Desafios Porto, Porto Innovation Hub, Hackacity or ScaleUpPorto are some of the projects presented at the summit.

Companies such as Omniflow, Ubiwhere and Monitar, are present as well in the Asian Smart Cities Innovation Summit 2017.
