Spirits are high in town, and if as some people say "Porto is all about partying", "we take it as a compliment to the people in Porto", Mayor Rui Moreira said, during the presentation of the 2018-2019 Season of Porto Municipal Theatre (TMP).

The season kicks-off with a new branding, inspired by "Porto.", bestowing a new identity to each of the Municipal theatre's poles - Rivoli and Campo Alegre - and a programme that will continue to stir the city's cultural scene.

The cultural project is expanding and continues to reinvent itself so as to better cope with all types of stages and audiences.

Yesterday, 6 September was officially day one of the 2018-2019 Season and D. João I Square was the impromptu arena to celebrating TMP New Season, to the sound of DJ Maria Gambina.

With a budget of approximately 575 million euros till February 2019, the city will be able to host around 63 performances, in a total of 120 presentations, 14 of which are international performances and 11 shows will make their national premiere.

Porto will host dance, theatre and music performances brought by artists from France, Spain, Belgium, Greece, Germany, Rwanda, Italy, USA and Sweden.

And the launch of this new season gifted the crowd with the opportunity to go backstage, interact with staff members and learn about theatre trivia.

The party continued outdoors, in front of Rivoli, with spirits high and once again confirming the city of Porto as a centre of cultural influence.
