Porto hosts the Messiah by Handel this December

Porto hosts the Messiah by Handel on 11 December at Casa da Música (CdM). The concert is also performed by the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century and the ensemble Cappella Amsterdam, as well as the community participation of 200 choir members, who will be seated beside the audience for an interactive concert.

Daniel Reuss is in charge of the Musical Direction. The concert features performances by soprano Ruby Hughes, contralto Marianne Beate Kielland, tenor Rupert Charlesworth and bass James Newby.

This is the final stress of the Casa da Música Season devoted to Austria, bringing to Porto important names of classic music and in the framework of the partnership with the Foundation La Caixa.

"This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship", stated CdM Artistic Director, António Jorge Pacheco, referring to the partnership with "La caixa".
