Porto hosts national startups competition with the support of Venture Cup, June 30

The national competition will take place at Casa da Música, between 12.30 am and 6.30 pm.

The ten startups on competition represent universities from all cross the country, and among them there will be 3 universities from Porto: iSociety, from Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto, Faculty of Engineering from University of Porto; Framie, from University of Porto; and Oko, from ISEP - Porto Engineering Polytechnic School.

As a world leading university startup organisation, Venture Cup creates opportunities for young startup talents, allowing for knowledge exchange and sharing towards developing the right skills, their skills.

What we are seeing for the first time in the country, namely in the city of Porto, is a community for startup talents across universities and regions as a tool to boost growth.

Does it seem awesome? It is because it is awesome. The winner will be granted 5 thousand euros and will represent Portugal at the World Startup Competition in Denmark, in September. 

the University Startup World Cup is the largest startup mentor program in Europe, a pre-accelerator program, that will enable networking, conferences, corporate workshops, talent hunting and technology spotting. 

On the importance of such an initiative, Venture Cup CEO, Human Shojaee, says that "there is a lot of potential in Portugal", an "obvious place to be when one wishes to influence and to be at the forefront of entrepreneurship".

This event is free but prior application is required.
