Porto Fashion Week celebrates fashion with a number of events

The 10th Edition of Porto Fashion Week kicks off 28 September with numerous events taking place in the city of Porto.

Porto Fashion Week Night Out, Porto Fashion Film Festival, MODtissimo, on its 50th edition, the 10th iTechStyle Innovation Business Forum, the Fashion People competition and the 10th Port Wine Fashion make this a full week devoted to fashion businesses.

It is worth highlighting the International Convention Euratex, which takes place in Portugal for the first time. 

The start will be made 28 September with the third Porto Fashion Week's Night Out, an event that will join 100 venues, from fashion stores, design and decoration shops, restaurants, bars, hairdressers and art Galleries in a "night shopping initiative" with several venues extending their operating hours.

Friday, 29 September, the Tramway Museum plays host to the 4th Edition of Porto Fashion Film Festival, with a total of 100 films competing. This is a unique festival that highlights the contribution of films about fashion as a privileged audiovisual language towards promoting and disseminating the work of fashion makers and Fashion Industry.

This festival attains international recognition by sponsoring the first edition of Fashion Film Festival of São Paulo, Brazil. There is also the celebration of photography with the 10th edition of the Fashion People competition.

 

The high moment of Porto Fashion Week is, undoubtedly, the 50th edition of MODtissimo. For two full days, 3 and 4 October, the Customs Building will host national and international fabric and accessories' manufacturers. There will be over 400 exhibitors.

At the same time and at the very same place, the iTechStyle Showcase is running, an event aimed at suggesting new horizons for the fashion industry, showing that technology can be an ally for the industry and even for creativity purposes.

Also, Port Wine Fashion has challenged national fashion designers to decorate Port Wine bottles. This initiative is also open to the public at large. It will take place at the Customs Building and the decorated bottles will be displayed at a show.

Last but not least, it is worth noting the Euratex International Convention, set for 3 October, will gather over 150 participants in Palácio do Porto. This event is organised by the European Trade of the Textiles and Clothing Industry and it will be hosted in Portugal for the first time. This will be its 6th Edition themed "Be competitive in the new global order".
