Porto Airport breaks record for passenger numbers in the first half of the year

Porto Airport reached all-time high numbers with a total of five million passenger movements in commercial flights, which is an increase of 18.5% compared to the same period in 2016. By the end of the year, the airport should cross the 10-million passenger mark.

With traffic growth at almost 40.412 commercial flights at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, Ryanair is the leading airline operating at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, which carried around 1.937 million passengers, TAP ranks second with nine hundred thousand passengers carried. Porto Airport was chosen by ACI - Airports Council International as the best in Europe among airports under 5 to 15 million passengers category in March 2017. The award follows the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) study, the leading worldwide benchmark in the Evaluation of Passenger Satisfaction - 2016 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards.

In April 2017, an international survey by DECO - Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection placed Porto Airport not only as the best in Europe but also as third best in the world.
