Over 4600 foreign students are enrolled at the University of Porto

More than 4.600 students, from 90 countries have chosen Portugal and the University of Porto to complete their Academic training.

U. Porto beats all records regarding the number of foreign students, in the context of international mobility programmes or to undergo complete graduate programmes.

Mobility programmes, such as Erasmus+ or Programa Santander enable students from all around the world to study in Porto.

Students come from Argentina, Syria, Senegal, China, Russia, Lebanon or Israel. The most represented nationalities are the Brazilian (518 students), the Spanish (205), the Italian (163), the German (83) and the Polish (74). It should be mentioned that 35 students from Macau already arrived in Porto.

There has been continued growth in the number of foreign students studying at the University of Porto in the last years.

Besides the mobility students, the University of Porto also welcomes students undergoing full qualification. As such, there are students from Brazil (2259), Italy (103), Mozambique (85) and Cabo Verde (75). These are the most represented nationalities, and the most sought after faculties are Engineering (706), Arts (560), Science (330), Economy (298) and Fine Arts (194).
