By the end of 2019, the French corporate and investment bank Natixis is aiming to double the number of highly-qualified executives recruited in Porto. This is a statement by the Senior Country Manager Nathalie Risacher, in a recent interview to Exame Magazine.

Natixis, the second-largest banking group in France, started operating in Porto one year ago, and has hired over 300 people.

The decision to establish the city of Porto as the Centre of Excellence for Natixis was based on the talented and well-educated people that Porto has to offer as well as on the environment of innovation and entrepreneurship that spurs in that northern region.

The relocation of the IT Centre of Excellence required major studies and Portugal stood out as an excellent choice due to its favourable economic environment for foreign investment and important language skills.

The proximity of Porto to the bank's headquarters, in Paris, and, more specifically, the high level of qualified individuals were also considered added-value.

According to Nathalie Risacher, cited by Exame magazine, "when we don't have candidates with the right qualifications but interested in an IT career we recruit them and provide training in our Academy".

Natixis is a French corporate and investment bank established in November 2006 from the merger of the asset management and investment banking operations of Natexis Banque Populaire (Banque Populaire group) and IXIS (Groupe Caisse d'Epargne).
