"Log Surf Fest" takes over the beaches of Porto and Matosinhos this May

Surf baptism for children in need will take place alongside the Log Surf Fest. The National championships for Longboard and Stand Up Paddle will be held on 4 and 5 May.

The Log Surf Fest is back to the beaches of Porto and Matosinhos with the best Longboard and Stand Up Paddle national athletes in the Race and Wave series.

Between 4 and 5 May, the northern beaches will host a set of championships in the context of the Wave Series 2019.

The 4th May kicks off with the second round of the Longboard 2019 national Championship bringing together the best national athletes of this discipline, namely Open, Women and Under-18, with a prize money of 1000 euros.

Also on 4 may, the Stand Up Paddle takes place, with the Sup Race Técnico 2019 National Championship in the following disciplines: Open, Women, Under-18, Under-15, Under-12 and Fun Race, with a prize money of 750 euros.

Sunday is time for the Sup Wave 2019 National Championship in the disciplines Open and Women, with a prize Money of 250 euros.

Alongside the championships there will be a surfing baptism for children in need, on 4th May, and it will be a first for these youngsters that will experience this sport.

The organising entity is Onda Pura, jointly with the AON - Associação Onda do Norte and the Municipalities of Porto and Matosinhos.

The event relies on the institutional support of the Portuguese Surf Federation and the "Turismo de Porto e Norte de Portugal" and the Parish of Matosinhos and Leça da Palmeira.
