International Folk Festival gathers 250 participants in Porto

Porto hosts the International Folk festival from July 23 to 30. This event brings together Musical groups from eight countries, in a total of 250 participants.

The musical groups will perform in Trindade Metro Station, in Quinta São Romão, Sé Social Centre and Gomes Teixeira Square.

The high moments of this events are the two concert evenings in "Praça dos Leões", July 28 and 29, starting at 9.30 pm, featuring folk groups from Portugal, Brazil, Cyprus, Hungary and also from Poland, India, Czech Republic and Panama.

July 29, all participants will parade through the town streets, starting at 3 pm. The point of departure is Batalha Square.

This festival is organised by Paranhos Folk Group and is sponsored by Porto City Hall.

11 am - Sé Social Centre: Panama Folk Group of Ama Mía (Panama)

7.30 pm - Quinta de São. Romão: Folk Dance Group Ayfas (Czech Republic)

7.30 pm - Quinta de São Romão: Iskele Municipality Folk Dance Group (Cyprus)

 

July 28

2.30 pm - Trindade Metro Station: groups to be confirmed

9.30 pm - Gomes Teixeira Square: GruPesquisa e AnDanças Sepé Tiaraju (Brazil), Iskele Municipality Folk Dance Group (Cyprus), Folkdance Ensemble Fonó Ullés (Hungary) and Folkloric Ranch of Paranhos (Portugal)

 

July 29
