Intercultural communication will be the theme of an afternoon devoted to celebrating different social and cultural backgrounds, in areas such as music, dance, singing, and fashion.

Understanding cross-cultural communication is important and this is the main objective of Espaço t Association, next Sunday, 2nd September, at St. Ildefonso Church Square (next to Batalha Square), between 2.30 pm and 7.30 pm.

This event is supported by Porto City Hall, via Porto Lazer and it is held in the context of the "O Meu País no Teu" project [My country in your country, free translation], whose mission is to disseminate intercultural art programming, featuring the work of artists, groups and collectives of diverse backgrounds.

This project is funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (FAMI), through the High Commission for Immigration. The public can take part in arts workshops, which are held at regular intervals. The workshops and exhibits include artistic practices and expressions considered unique to members of a specific group or community, across different languages and cultures, including Portuguese, African and Latin American dances, gipsy and Brazilian singing, rhythmic capoeira and a parade of national costumes.

The main purpose of such events is to boost support for people across different languages, cultures and backgrounds.
