Theatre Company "mala voadora" sets off the first performance of an improvisational theatre that is sponsored by Porto City Hall through the Criatório programme.

This bold and innovative project will last for the entire year 2018 and comprises improv or impro theatre in which most or all of what is performed is unplanned or unscripted but rather created spontaneously by the performers.

White Rabbit, Red Rabbit is the title of the show that will be presented twelve times over 2018, featuring 12 versions with 12 different performers.

The opening is scheduled for 10 pm on the 10th January at the mala voadora location (Rua do Almada, 277), and João Pedro Vaz will take on the first blind date with the text by Nassim Soleimanpour from Iran.

The Iranian playwright was refused permission to travel from his country; as such, Nassim wrote a text that does not need a scene, outfits, cast or rehearsal to be presented on stage.

As he was prevent from his freedom of movement, he created a text that gives its performers the ability to choose, thus enhancing the performative possibilities.

One of the playwright's guidelines is, indeed, that each performer does not know the text till the very moment he/she is on stage.

The following actors will perform White Rabbit, Red Rabbit: João Pedro Vaz, Ana Deus, Fernanda Lapa, Gonçalo Waddington, Maria do Céu Ribeiro, Maria João Luís, Mónica Calle, Paula Sá Nogueira, Pedro Penim, Tiago Rodrigues, Tónan Quito and Vera Mantero.
