The 9th International Urban Sketchers Symposium starts this week in Porto, from 18 to 21 July, 2018 at the Customs Building in Porto. Urban sketchers of all experiences and backgrounds will gather to share their knowledge and to network.

This Symposium features 36 instructors of different nationalities, including Portuguese sketchers João Catarino, José Louro and Pedro Loureiro.
Urban artists draw the cities they visit, capture the urban liveliness on location, from urban landscape to city culture.

Porto City Hall joins this event in the city and promotes a mini-session of sketching in the public space. It will take place on the last day of the event, on 21st July, at 3.30 pm, at Cemitério Agramonte.

All sketch aficionados are welcome to join in.

The logo of the meeting is the Clérigos Tower, bended as if it were peeking at the sketcher's work. This logo was created by Isa Silva, a Portuguese sketcher who has won this competition out of 24 participants from all around the globe.

The fundamental goal of this event is to celebrate and practice the art of on-location sketching in the city of Porto.
