In the latter half of August, 11 to 13, hundreds of geocachers will discover the city whilst looking for small treasures. The event, named "Love Love... Porto", comprises several parallel activities and is free of charge but registration is required.

Geocaching is a recreational activity in which players, named geocachers must search for symbolic treasures, named caches by using a GPS device and geographic coordinates.

The hobby has more than three million buffs around the world.

However, "Love Love... Porto" is more than the usual caches' search. Participants will get to know some of the most iconic places in Porto, including Ribeira Square, Quinta do Covelo and the Palácio de Cristal Gardens.

Also, workshops, orientation tours, bike rides, and activities relate to the cleaning or restoring of the environment and many more will spread over three full days.

The main goal is to promote geocaching in Portugal and placing Porto in geocachers world route.
