For Red Bull Air Race Porto we put together a set of information concerning the Red Bull Air Race World Championship leg in Porto.
Keep track of the most relevant data on the event and enjoy the most vibrant weekend on the shores of river Douro in the cities of Porto and Gaia, which will take place on 2 and 3 September. But bear in mind that training flights, which will happen on Friday, are also spectacular.
TOP SPOTS TO WATCH THE RACE- The riverside of the Douro river, notably the race track (between Arrábida and Luís I Bridges)

- Belvedere of Batalha
- In Palácio de Cristal, the Casa do Roseiral is equipped for persons with reduced mobility, during the three days of the race, from 10 am to 6 pm.

MAIN ARENAS FOR PORTO RACE
- River Douro. The race is done overflying the river Douro, between the bridges of Arrábida and Luís I.
- Race Village. I tis located in Queimódromo, next to the City Park, where the 14 Master category aircfarfts will take off and land, in a 500 m long temporary runway.
There is an area open to the public, whose entrance is done by the City Park, as well as numerous initiatives.
HOW TO GET THERE
The best option is public transport. Public transport operators have announced extended operating time, namely Metro do Porto and STCP.
CP - Trains from Portugal provides special trains.
Should you need to use your own car, be aware that you will have to park outside the safety zone and the no-traffic areas, on the 1, 2 and 3 September.
Coordinating parking in Public parks and parking zones away from the city centre and using public transport to get around quickly are a good option. Plan ahead and find the best spot to watch the race.
SAFETY PLAN AND TRAFFIC CONSTRAINTS
The well-being of the spectators, prevention, mobility and the fast intervention by police authorities and civil protection are the reasons why such a global event has a safety plan.
All safety measures are applicable from 8 am to 8 pm on the three day event.

LOOK UP BUT GEAR UP ON THE GROUND
Bringing drinking water and using sun tan are the most common recommendations.
There will be a restaurant area as well as provisional toilets in the Alfândega (next to the race control tower), in Massarelos (next to the Cais das Pedras), in Rua do Ouro (next to Arrábida Bridge) or at the Queimódromo.
LIVE BROADCAST
The race will be broadcasted in large screens, set up in several spots in the Riverside of River Douro, namely Ribeira, Alfândega and Cais das Pedras.
The race will be broadcasted live on TV Channels SIC and SIC Radical and on Internet (www.redbullairrace.com e sic.pt).
