Fun at the beach with family games throughout August

During the weekends, August is the month of fun and games in the sun and at the beach for the entire family.

Involve your family in the traditional beach games and spend fun days in Porto beaches.

The traditional games of penny football and building and flying kites are the suggested activities for a smart family weekend by the ocean, in the context of the "verão é no Porto" programme (summer is in Porto), organised by municipal companies Porto Lazer and Águas do Porto.

Penny football will take place in several beaches in Porto and the tracks will be built on a daily basis. Each day, a winner will take the podium and a symbolic trophy home.

This activity is access free, and the method first come, first served applies.

5 August (2.00 pm) - Praia do Homem do Leme

12 August (10.30 am) - Praia do Carneiro)

15 August (10.30 am) - Praia das Pastoras

18 August (2.00 pm) - Praia do Molhe

19 August (2.00 pm) - Praia de Gondarém

20 August (2.00 pm) - Praia dos Ingleses

26 August (10.30 am) - Praia do Castelo do Queijo

The last Sunday of August all participants will fly their kite, built under the "Wind and Thread" workshop aimed at boosting families' creativity in kite building. This workshop is free and the method first come, first served applies.

These events will be hosted at the blue flag status beaches in Porto and are free of charge.
