Firework show of São João in Porto filled with colour, rhythm and merrymaking

"If someday someone asks about me / Tell them I lived to love you". It was to the tune of Salvador Sobral's "Amar pelos Dois", this years' Eurovision Song Contest Winner that the firework display kicked off last night in Ribeira do Porto.
It was heaven on earth for 16 minutes, filled with colour, rhythm and merrymaking, the time that the firework show lasted.
A sea of people took over the city historic centre and Gaia, the neighbouring city to watch this fascinating show, which was delayed because some private vessels entered the safety perimeter.
The show continued in Aliados Avenue with the sound of Portuguese Band GNR.
