Summer also means festivities and pilgrimage and Porto is no exception. The feast of Saint Bartholomew enlivens Foz do Douro from June till September.
The traditional parade of paper costumes, scheduled this year for 26th August is one of the highlights of Saint Bartholomew festivity and the Market in Molhe is a must-go.
Several stands, showcasing clothing items, props, and handmade art await under the Pergola in Foz till the 17th August, from 10 am to 8 pm.
Nearby, the Molhe Square hosts the 4th Saint Bartholomew Book Feast, on display till the 27th August.
The 3rd Paper Costumes Exhibition is held at the Castelo Esplanade, namely in the Escola 85. It will run till 27th August.
Plenty to see also in Passeio Alegre, from 15 to 26 August, with the 3rd Saint Bartholomew Market and the 2nd Flavours of Saint Bartholomew.
