The work by German artist Caspar Walter Rauh and the Fantastic Realism Engraving Exhibition is on display at the Palacete dos Viscondes de Balsemão, 26 October starting at 6 pm.

The exhibit approaches the dimension of this artistic movement which had as a great personality the German graphic designer, illustrator, and painter Caspar Walter Rauh (1912/1983), following the Second World War.

This initiative is sponsored by the Faculty of Arts, University of Porto, jointly with Porto City Hall, and it is attended by the German Ambassador in Lisbon, Christof Weil. The event sets the theme for the colloquium that will take place Saturday, 28 October (see the programme here).

This is an international event aimed at debating the importance of German Fantastic Realism in the work of Caspar Walter Rauh, considered an illustrious unknown in the European artistic milieu.

The exhibition is free and the opening hours are between 10 am and 5.30 pm from Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 1 o'clock and 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm on Saturdays, until 25 November.
