The 2018 edition of the Electric tramcars Parade in Porto takes place on May 5th. This event is held annually since 1992 and the main goal is to tell stories about the days when this one-hundred years old electric freight cars were used to transport coal from the mines in São Pedro da Cova to the new power plant in Massarelos. The first electric freight trams were indicated as Zorras.

The century-old electric freight tramcars will hit the street at 3 pm, departing the Electric Car Museum and parading along the waterfront, passing the Infante to Passeio Alegre and returning to base.

Every car will tell a story, with lots of excitement and music bands. The parade ends with a Porto Wine tasting, around 6 pm.

This edition is aimed at celebrating the centenary of the railway line to São Pedro da Cova (1918-2018), under the responsibility of the Carris do Porto Railway Company and fundamental not only to the city transit at the time but also for the use of industrial coal in the Massarelos thermoelectric plant boilers (current Museum facilities).

The ticket costs five euros and can be purchased at the Museum. Children under four years of age are admitted for free. Entrance to the museum (open in the afternoon) is free.
