Design work for "Cultura em Expansão" in the city of Porto is awarded in New York

The International Journal of Visual Communication Graphis announced the winners of the Graphis Poster Annual 2018 competition.

Portuguese Designer Sérgio Alves, from Design Firm Atelier d'alves in Porto was awarded Silver in the events category for a work developed to Porto City Hall Project "Cultura em Expansão". 

"Cultura em Expansão (Expanding culture) has evolved into a project of clear simplicity as the complexity of projects develops", affirmed Rui Moreira, Mayor of Porto.

This is now the third time that a Graphis is awarded to design works for client Porto City Hall. In 2016, work by designer Eduardo Aires, of White Studio in Porto, and printed with the brand "Teatro Municipal do Porto" was honoured a Gold Graphis Award and in 2015, the designer was presented with a Silver Graphis Award with the creation of "Porto." brand.

Chosen Poster entries earn a Graphis Gold, Silver or Merit Award, with a few receiving a Platinum Award.

Graphis, The International Journal of Visual Communication, was first published in 1944 by Dr. Walter Amstutz and Walter Herdeg in Zurich, Switzerland. 

Graphis currently produces Design, Advertising, Photography, Annual Report, Poster and New Talent Annuals.

All winners receive a certificate and exposure on the site.
