Competitive sections of International Film Festival of Porto - Fantasporto start Friday, 24th February

The 37th edition of Fantasporto begins February 24th at the Rivoli - Municipal Theatre. 

"The Age of Shadows" by Jee-woon Kim, is the screening opening of the Festival; it was showcased in Venice and Toronto Festivals and was Best Film at the Philadelphia Film Festival. This film is an Oscar nominee in South Korea, and was a box-office hit in Asia last year.

This Friday the programme also includes the opening of Catarina Machado's painting exhibition, on floor 0, with Owan music, and at 8:30 pm, the show Fogotrio, from Quideia group, out of doors, near the theatre premises.

Portuguese film "A Ilha dos Cães" will be screened Saturday, 25th February.

Throughout the weekend the highlights are "OMG Im a robot" by Tal Goldberg and Gal Zelezniak (Saturday, 9 pm), world premiere of "The evil within" by Andrew Getty (Sunday, 9 pm); and "The Net" by Kim Ki Duc (Sunday, 10:45 pm).

Fantasporto is a New Cinema production with the support of ICA (Ministry of Culture) and the City Hall of Porto. Unicer and TVCine and Series are its main sponsors.
