Medeia Filmes is delivering the “Quarentena Cinéfila” again, amid the second lockdown, with preventive pandemic measures keeping everything closed, but with this initiative on, it is possible to connect movie theatres and audiences. The Cinephile Quarantine resumes on 11th February with films by Bertolucci and Basquiat. In the meantime the “Raridades” special programme is ongoing.

Medeia Filmes, jointly with Leopardo Filmes, and Porto Municipal Theatre will keep your love of film alive during confinement. The special programme "Raridades" delivers the following films: "O Pequeno Quinquin", by Bruno Dumont (available until 12 noon on 8th February) and "Alguns Dias em Setembro", by Santiago Amigorena, (between 8th and 11th February).

The second phase of the “Quarentena Cinéfila” kicks off on 11th February and runs till 1st March, with five more films, namely “Me and You”, by Bernardo Bertolucci; “At An Uncertain Time”, by Carlos Saboga; “Road to Nowhere”, by Monte Hellman; “Boom for Real: The Late Teenage Years of Jean-Michel Basquiat”, by Sara Driver; and “Wings”, by Larisa Shepitko.

The organisation is the same as the first “Quarentena Cinéfila”, with the screening of two films per week. The first film is “Me and You” (Io e Te, in Italian). This was Bertolucci’s final feature film before his death in November 2018. The film was screened out of competition at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.
