Book on innovation has an English edition

The English version of "Innovation in the Transformation of the City" was released yesterday. The book is a compilation of a series of public debates, sponsored by the municipality, which took place in Porto Innovation Hub. 

Representatives of a number of European cities attended the public release of the Book, namely from Manchester, Dublin, Eindhoven or even Stockholm, and they felt first-hand the liveliness of the city.

Such an event highlights how globally important the city of Porto is as a leading city in the context of innovation strategy, specialised knowledge, sustainable development and entrepreneurship.

It should be underlined that during three consecutive months, from December 2016 to February 2017, Porto Innovation Hub, a centre for innovation, launched by the current municipal government, has encouraged public debate on a number of issues and has established a new model for citizen participation.

This initiative has fostered 24 public debates, in a total number of 146 guests, speakers and otherwise, and over 2200 participants. 

The crosscutting issues of living in society, mapping the city, achieving sustainability, and transforming economy were openly discussed.

The debates have resulted in a number of draft conclusions to be taken into consideration in the construction of actions, programs and public policies for all, for the city of Porto that "we wish to have in the future".
