Blues Festival is back at the Palácio de Cristal Gardens on 18 and 19 May

Feeling blue on account of the rainy days? Despair not! Prepare to enjoy a beautiful feeling of blue at the Porto Blues Fest next May.

Book the event in your agenda: the evenings on 18 and 19 May will feature a Blues Festival, at the orchestra shell, at the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal, the perfect stage for a memorable concert.

Following the thrilling debut last year, with the outstanding Shirley King and Rui Veloso concert in 2017, a tribute to the greatest bluesman of all times, B.B. King, the second edition of Porto Blues Fest includes performers Pat Cohen, Tatanka, Chino & The Big Bet, Budda, Maria João and the special guest, Pedro Abrunhosa.

Tickets are available for sale online and in the usual places. Price tickets range from 20 euros (one day) and 25 euros (two-day ticket).

18 May, Friday

10 pm: NORTH & SOUTH BLUES CONNECTION (PORTUGAL)

North South Blues Connection, a project created by four Blues musicians in Portugal: António Casado (guitar), João André (bass), Hugo Danin (drums) and Tatanka, leader and producer of The Black Mamba.

11.30 pm: PAT "THE MOTHER OF THE BLUES" COHEN (USA)

For years, Pat Cohen would sing six nights a week in New Orleans, including in the mythic House of Blues, until hurricane Katrina destroyed her house and her career was at a standstill.
She moved to North Carolina and started to sing again. During her performances, Pat "Mother Blues" transforms her life experience into emotions and rhythm, filled with energy and joy. 

19 May, Saturday

10 pm: CHINO & THE BIG BET (SPAIN)

In the last years, Chino has become one of the most active Blues and Swing musicians in Barcelona, with an unmistakable slide guitar style. Together with his band, The Big Bet, with bassist Rod Deville and drummer Giggs Nother, they have already proven their charisma in festivals all over Spain and other European countries.

11.30 pm: BUDDA POWER BLUES & MARIA JOÃO feat PEDRO ABRUNHOSA (PORTUGAL)

Budda Power Blues and Maria João have decided to join efforts and their talent by recording The Blues Experience. Pedro Abrunhosa is their guest at the Palácio de Cristal, joining them on stage.
