The film "Russa", produced under the "Cultura em Expansão" Municipal Programme, will be screened on 19 February, at 4 pm at the Berlinale - Berlin International Film Festival.

Directed by João Salaviza (who has won the Golden Bear in 2012) and Ricardo Alves Jr., the film portrays the day to day situations of the Aleixo district and it is presented as highlight at the event that runs in Berlin between 15 and 25 February. The competition includes 21 other films from 18 countries in the short subject competition.

The prizes are the Golden Bear, the Silver Bear, the Audi Award (20 000 euros) and the nomination for the European cinema Awards.

Portuguese Director Diogo Costa Amarante, winner of 2017 Golden Bear, North American director and Curator Mark Toscano and South African Director and Scholar Jyoti Mistry are members of the jury of this year's Berlinale.

This short was co-produced by Porto City Hall Culture Department and it was presented at Rivoli during the closing of the "Cultura em Expansão" Programme, last December.
