"To School Out of School" Pláka programme concludes third session next week

Pláka Collectives programme- "To School out of School" is back next week with the last session of the "To School Out of School" programme, from 14 to 19 January, at Palacete dos Viscondes de Balsemão and the Palácio dos Correios.

This initiative fosters the establishment of a national and international network of artists and cultural agents as well, prompting the debate on contemporary studies.

TSOS III is the last session of the course that is coordinated by Ana Rocha, cofounder of Mezzanine project, and André Sousa, artist and cofounder of the artistic project "Uma Certa Falta de Coerência".

This final session includes the technical and pedagogic support of curator and artist Fadwa Naamna, who develops her work in the area of Palestinian and Israeli contemporary art, focussing on the issues of border and conflict; Markus Miessen, writer, architect and professor working on the place of the individual between the public and the private space; and Pedro G. Romero, a theorist and a critic, also a multidisciplinary artist and a Flamenco expert, studying nomadic and peripheral cultures.

"To School Out of School" programme offers a short workshop on contemporary studies, focusing on collectives, solo performances, informal and institutional organisations that develop their projects in the field of curatorship and thought on culture and present time.

This action and debate programme fosters the networking of national and international artists thus enabling great minds to discuss and contemplate contemporary studies.
