"Ao Gosto do Porto" Food Festival is back in São Lázaro Garden

Starting next week, the "Ao Gosto do Porto" Festival [To Porto's content, in English], invites you to discover traditional cuisine from Porto as well as rich and varied national delicacies.

This is the fifth edition of this food festival that runs from 3 to 27 August, and offers different gastronomic options for all tastes. The highlight of the food festival is the veal from the region of Baião, "so tender that it can be eaten with a spoon".

Tripe and Francesinha (little Frenchie) from Porto are a must in the festival's menu, and many other dishes such as the alheira from Mirandela, a type of Portuguese sausage, made with meats other than pork (usually veal, duck, chicken, quail or rabbit) and bread, rojões from the Minho region, which are seasoned pieces of pork loin, also pork from Bairrada, cuttlefish from Setúbal, grilled sardines and lots of codfish. 

Every week, "the table is set up" in different restaurants so that participants get to know different places while tasting the various savouries. Restaurants such as Cufra, Clube 21, Robalo, Marisqueira Majára, Tucano, Zé Pacheco, Monte Aventino, Alfândega D'ouro, Mister Pig, Alicantina or Cruzeiro are already confirmed for the 2017 edition of the food festival.

The event is free and it is organised by the Montra Nacional, with the support of Porto Lazer.
