The city of Porto hosts the second Meeting of women in IT jobs, on 27 June, at the DevScope Auditorium, Partner Company of the event organisation.

IAMCP - International Association of Microsoft Channel Partners (the largest Microsoft community and network partners), jointly with WIT (Women in Technology) will address the need for inclusiveness of the available potential labour pool in particular the severe under-representation of women in the ICT workforce management positions.

At the event, WIT (Women in Technology) will present its values and goals as a cohesive professional network, trying to identify major challenges and opportunities in the sector with a view to bringing WIT mission and initiatives into light in Portugal.

The first Meeting was held in Lisbon, on 18 April, and Porto plays host to the second Meeting in the country.

Applications are free and available. Please register here.

The main goal is to raise WIT profile in the Northern Region of Portugal, an opportunity for IT professionals to network and become known.

The WIT-IAMCP was established last year in Portugal and aims at attracting women to IT professions and implement women leadership programmes, by removing existing taboos and tackling specific barriers women still face in this area.

This community is supported by Microsoft and its Portuguese branch, of which WIT is one of the most significant initiatives.

It is worth mentioning that men are allowed to take part in this community and everyone can be a WIT member.
