This Friday, on 10th May, it is time to discover what night creatures inhabit the City Park at night. The Municipal Programme "Ambiente em Família" ["Environment for Families", free translation] is an excellent opportunity to dispel myths about nocturnal animals and get to know a bit of their living habits, as well.

The session is scheduled to start at 8.30pm, guided by Jael Palhas, of the Centre of Functional Ecology of Coimbra, accompanied by members of the "Night of the Creatures of the Darkness" project, who research nocturnal animals, namely bats, amphibians, birds of prey, moths or spiders.

This is an excellent opportunity to dispel myths about this nocturnal animals, as they are often connected to the realms of the supernatural, superstition or witchcraft, which is harmful to the conservation of species.

Participation is free, but subject to availability. It is intended for the general public, and the pre-registration is mandatory via dm.gestaoambiental@cm-porto.pt

Children (over six years) must be accompanied by an adult the entire session.
