The Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto opens Thursday at 6:30 pm the exhibition based on "Villa Tugendhat", the icon of modernism designed 90 years ago by architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and the most emblematic among the architect's works.

This exhibition gathers a remarkable set of information on Villa Tugendhat's project, which was built in 1929-1930, from inception to present time. The display is organized around 14 themes that deal with different periods in the history of this villa, which will be shared with the public through texts, film footage and photographs.

The inauguration will begin with an opening conference themed "Many Lives in the Villa Tugendhat and its Conservation and Restoration" by Iveta Cerná, director of Villa Tugendhat, at 6:30 pm in the Sala Plana of FAUP.

This is a joint initiative of FAUP, Villa Tugendhat Documentation Centre and Brno Municipality, with the support of the Municipality of Porto.

"Villa Tugendhat" is open to the public from April 21 to May 31, Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 7 pm.

The entry is free.
