UPTEC scaled-up company Knok raises a total investment of 1.7 million euros

knok, a scale up company of UPTEC - Science and Technology Park of Porto has just finished an investment round of 1.7 million euros. This capital injection will be applied in increasing globalisation and the development of a video consultation platform to facilitate the doctor-patient communication.

The company was founded in 2015 by José Bastos, alumnus of the Faculty of Economy of the University of Porto (FEP) and Porto Business School. knok has established several partnerships with hospitals, health organizations and insurance companies, and the client portfolio includes names as Europ Assistance, AdvanceCare, S.A. and Medicare, Grupo Lusíadas Saúde and NOS Telecomunicações.

The company was incubated in UPTEC and holds offices both in Porto and in London; it is also established in countries such as Brazil, South Africa and Angola, among others.

Since the beginning of October, it is part of the NHS - National Health Service purchase network. Currently, it is preparing to enter the Indian and Italian markets.

The investment round secured by knok is led by the social impact fund Mustard Seed MAZE, and includes the Social Innovation Fund, the FascinanteFólio and the Ryse Asset Management, as well. Since the beginning of it activity, the cumulative amount of secured financing is 2.9 million euros.
