The Serralves Foundation Auditorium hosts the Conference Ubuntu Bridges 2018, on 7 January.

This event is entrance free and it is all about sharing the life stories of the participants to the 4th edition of the Ubuntu Leaders Academy, a programme that seeks to develop the leadership and management capacities of young people of High Potential in adverse environments.

The literal translation of UBUNTU is "I am because You are".

Nelson Mandela shared a short story about the UBUNTU philosophy and it goes like this: "In ancient times, when a traveller crossed his country and stopped at a village, he didn't even have to ask for food and water. The villagers welcomed him and fed him as soon as they saw him coming".

In the context of the Ubuntu Leaders Academy, "participants take on the challenge of sharing their lives 'stories with other participants in order to raise awareness on memoirs, positive inclusion and identity valorisation".

This conference takes place between 10 am and 6 pm. For the general public this is a chance to take evidence of inspiring testimonies regarding the overcoming of challenges.
