The first weekend of January sees the Three King's Day Celebration in Porto with lots of music, operas and concerts in different venues in the city.

For many Christians, the festive season continues until the 6th of January, with the celebration of the "Three Kings' Day", also known as the "Feast of the Epiphany", referring to the three Wise Men or Magi who found baby Jesus by following a star across the desert for twelve days to Bethlehem.

Austria is the featured country at this year's programming of this institution for 2018.

According to Casa da Música, "there is a flair of the exoticism from Persia, Spain and Russia, a sense of mystery and adventure from the East, and the grace of the most famous pieces as the pizzicato polka or The Blue Danube".
