The "Anuário" [yearbook] takes as its starting point the intention to document and to examine artistic activity in Porto for a year.

The exhibit constitutes one of the pillars for municipal platform PLÁKA, focused on contemporary art production in Porto. This display is supervised by the newly appointed Director of Serralves Museum, João Ribas and by Guilherme Blanc, Assistant of Mayor of Porto for Culture.

For this first edition we will see the participation of a multidisciplinary group of curators, including Joana Machado, Joaquim Durães, José Maia, Miguel Flor and Rita Castro Neves, who will develop a research work regarding projects presented in galleries and art spaces in the city of Porto throughout 2018.

The same group will design an exhibition project for Porto Municipal Gallery.

This "Anuário" exhibit, advanced by João Ribas, opens on 16 March 2019 with the goal of optimising different art projects in terms of making artistic creation and heritage more visible in Porto.

Besides the "Anuário", also the "Criatório" - the Paulo Cunha e Silva Art Prize, and the collective of debate and reactivation of the Municipal Art Collection are part of the PLÁKA platform, presented in May last year with the purpose of boosting contemporary art activities and respective visibility in Porto.
