The city of Porto is in Bordeaux to showcase Porto and the Douro Region world cultural heritage

The Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira will attend the opening of the exhibition "Douro: an alchemy between air, land and river", on 4th October in Bordeaux, France. Alain Juppé, Mayor of Bordeaux and former Prime Minister of France, will also attend the official opening. 

This event is held in the context of the Cité du Vin, with Porto as the invited vignoble. It is promoted by the Fondation pour la Culture et les Civilisations du Vin (Foundations for Culture and Wine Civilizations), which presents different wine regions in the word.

The programme opens with the official presentation of the cultural and civilizational exhibit on Porto and the Douro Region.

The exhibition is curated by anthropologist Eglantina Monteiro and artistic director Nuno Faria, and showcases Porto and the Douro Region in all its glory; the landscape, which has been acknowledged by UNESCO as world cultural heritage, the ancient link between mankind and nature, the tangible and intangible heritage, the unique microclimate, the language, the architecture and the river, are all distinctive features to discover during the exhibition.

"Douro: L'Air de la terre au bord des eaux" ("Douro: an alchemy between air, land and river"), is organised by Porto City Hall and by the Fondation pour la Culture et les Civilisations du Vin and it opens on 4th October, at 6 pm.

The exhibition will be on show till 6th January in the Cité du Vin, Bordeaux.
