Soares dos Reis National Museum invites you to "The Global City"

The public is invited to visit the Renaissance influence in Portugal by means of an exhibition of around 200 items, featured by the "Global City, Lisbon in the Renaissance" exhibition at Soares dos Reis National Museum.

The show will be open to the public until August 27, and helps to understand Portugal at the Age of Discovery, a historical period of European global exploration that started in the early 15th century with the first Portuguese discoveries and naval expeditions in the Atlantic archipelagos and Africa.

The exhibition is curated by Annemarie Jordan Gschwens and Kate Lowe, the authors of the book "The Global City: On the Streets of Renaissance Lisbon". 

Today, May 18, International Day of Museums, visits to the exhibition are free.
