Next Saturday, December 16, between 3 pm and 7 pm, the artistic quarter again invites the population to a Christmassy afternoon, where there will be plenty of entertainment, music, creative workshops, a show of alternative editions, own and independent publications curated by “Zine Fest PT”, the presentation of the third edition of “Aguça”, and a roadshow. Participation is free.

The celebration of the Christmas season will be in the Bombarda Quarter, with several free and open-access activities and cultural entertainment planned by the municipal company Ágora.

In addition to the sound of the DJ set Pimbaú (or take the pimba from the trunk), Rua de Miguel Bombarda (in the pedestrian zone that intersects with Rua da Boa Nova) will also have a workshop of its own to "stimulate the imagination”. The challenge is introduced by Porto illustrator and communication designer, Catarina Gomes. This activity aims to discover various types of drawings through challenging and creative exercises. At the end, each participant will take a notebook with all the drawings.

On the same street, the public will be invited to participate in an informal conversation, moderated by the editorial coordinator Inês Caldas (Incalma), regarding the presentation of the third issue of "Aguça", an independent publication dedicated to illustration and graphic arts and which, in this edition, stems from the word "phobias", with the reflection on fear, contamination, and prejudice — inside and outside the limits of drawing.

In the pedestrian zone that intersects with Rua de Cedofeita, Bárbara R. will lead the illustration and collage workshop "Cuts and cutouts, freedom to imagine a new planet" which will take place between 3 and 7 pm. This activity is free for families and everyone who wants to participate.

Simultaneously, but this time at Largo da Maternidade de Júlio Dinis, there will be an exhibition of alternative editions, artifacts of the "DIY" culture, own and independent publications. This exhibition includes the creative workshops "Desenhar com Linha", led by visual artist Paula Craft, and "Árvore Bombástica", by print designer Thaís Mendonça, in partnership with "Zine Fest PT". There will also be the sounds of the Bent DJ Set.

And because Bombarda rallies everyone's participation, the Union of the Parishes of Lordelo do Ouro and Massarelos invited the community, members, local entities and authorities to turn two public trees into a show of lights, colours, and creativity inspired by the Christmas season.

In Bombarda and Largo da Maternidade de Júlio Dinis, a musical group of clowns will perform themes from 1910 and 1920, in a roadshow called “Orquestrina” by Seistopeia, where circus languages and musical instruments such as bass, violin, guitar, accordion, washboard, and small percussions coexist.

This edition's poster image is an original work by designer and illustrator Catarina Gomes. The use of the font Colönia Studio was maintained. It should be noted that the 17th edition of the Simultaneous Miguel Bombarda Inaugurations – Porto Art District is scheduled for January 20th.
