The Iconic Houses network was founded in 2012 by a group of modern house museums.

The network's main goal is to provide audiences at large with a unique category of sites dedicated to promoting the preservation and cultural heritage of modern house museums, architects' houses and artists' homes and studios, jointly referred to as "Iconic Houses".

Serralves Villa is one of the "Iconic Houses", it is located in the city of Porto and it is described as "a chance to take a trip back in time: to this unique example of Art Deco architecture, built in the 1930s."

The house is open to the public and visitors can gain an in-depth knowledge not only of the history of this Villa but also of the architectural and decorative details of this building.

This website with 150 Iconic Houses works as a unique platform to raising public's awareness regarding conservation, management, policy and cooperation issues.
