Second largest porcelain Christmas tree on display at MMIPO

Five meters high and 2.5 tonnes weight, the porcelain Christmas tree by Vista Alegre is on show at the Misericórdia do Porto Museum (MMIPO), and it is the second largest in the world, second only to the Christmas tree in the Belgian city of Hasselt.

The art installation, by visual artist Cláudia Pinto is part of the exhibition titled "Artes da Mesa: Tradição e Modernidade na Vista Alegre" [Arts de la Table: Tradition and Modernity in Vista Alegre] and it was designed based on a combination of over three thousand porcelain pieces from the Vista Alegre Factory in Ílhavo, recalling the convivial and sharing spirit of this time of year.

The exhibit is on show till 14th January 2018.
