Ryanair is once again strengthening its operations in Porto. This time, the Irish airline announced four new routes from Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport. This summer, the region will be directly connected to the cities of Belfast (Northern Ireland), Ibiza (Spain), Pisa (Italy) and Tangier (Morocco).

According to a press release quoted by Jornal de Notícias newspaper, the operator will have 12 aeroplanes based at Porto airport, an increase in supply which, it explains, will allow increasing passenger traffic by 5% to 3.8 million.

Ryanair adds that this increase is supported by '2,800 jobs, including more than 360 pilots, cabin crew and engineers'.

The Irish carrier's manager for Portugal, Elena Cabrera, says that the new connections 'give citizens/visitors a greater choice in city breaks and summer holidays at the lowest cost in Europe'.

Also according to the press release, Ryanair adds that this reinforcement, 'the biggest ever in the Summer', is proof of the commitment to invest and grow the operation in Porto.
