Rui Moreira steps solid ground in China

The official tour of the Mayor of Porto through China is now in Shanghai. After visiting Beijing, Rui Moreira held meetings with the Mayor and Vice-Mayor of the largest city of the People's Republic of China, considered one of the biggest metropolitan areas in the world, with over 24 million inhabitants.

In Beijing, Rui Moreira took part in the celebration of Portugal Day, on invitation of Ambassador José Augusto Duarte, and gave a live interview to the CGTN Network.

The Mayor of Porto then headed to Shanghai, where he was welcomed by Shi Guanghui, the Vice-Mayor of that city, who visited Porto last May. 

Shi Guanghui is in charge of the sectors of urbanism, housing, land resources, water affairs, transport, and ports, among other.

Today, Rui Moreira also met with Ying Yong, Mayor of Shanghai. And because it is vital to step on solid ground, this very important meeting between the two Mayors called for enhanced bilateral relations, and consolidated fundamental links between Porto and Shanghai, twin towns since 1995.

The Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira visited the Shanghai Arts Group Advancement Department.

Rui Moreira is on official tour to China since the beginning of the week.
