Today, more than 1500 children enjoyed the Aquaporto Festival, promoted by municipal company Águas do Porto. This is the 4th Edition of this water festival, which kicked-off at 10 am, next to the Water pavilion, in the City Park and will run till 30 September.

The event is part of the Porto Water Innovation Week, and for an entire week Porto was the European Water Capital, which culminated with the signing of Porto Declaration for the Urban Agenda 2030, at the customs Building.

Music, science, art and gastronomy are some of the components for the Aquaporto 2017, which will run for two days (Friday and Saturday, 29 and 30 September), with a vibrant and comprehensive programming.

Participation is free.

"Aquaporto is now a consolidated event, and in 2016, we have decided to transform this festival by jointly celebrating World Water Day (1 October) and World Music Day (1 October)", explained Filipa Fernandes, coordinator for Environment from Águas do Porto.

Dozens of associates take part in this initiative with several stalls in the enclosure. There is a science stall fully devoted to the younger audience where children can roleplay a scientist or an investigator. Other activities available are football matches, kart races to learn traffic rules, gym classes and inflatables to unleash energy.

Lastly, the festival offers music entertainment both on Friday and on Saturday.
