The world is shifting. And that shift can lead to a positive outcome. It must. In the context of how can cities be organised in the future, within environmental sustainable policies, around 230 representatives of 60 European cities gather at the Eurocities Environment Forum in Amsterdam to debate the topic "Towards Circular Cities: How to Make it Work?", from 4 to 6 April.

Porto participates in this forum and shares its local insight regarding a circular economy approach. All stakeholders will underpin the best practices at city level and the focus of this event is on climate change, the transition to renewable energy sources, redefining products, minimising waste, and increasing social capital.

The city of Porto shares its circular economy roadmap, how the city is "building blocks" to go beyond the industrial model and towards a Circular City till 2030, where all is intertwined, i.e., large and small businesses, organisations and individuals, globally and locally.

EUROCITIES was founded in 1986 by the mayors of Barcelona, Birmingham, Frankfurt, Lyon, Milan, and Rotterdam. This network decided that comprehensible development policy analysis and discussions should include the issue of cities and their economic, political and social development.

At present, EUROCITIES represents around 130 million citizens throughout Europe, bringing together local governments of over 130 main cities from 35 different countries.
