Porto/Post/Doc Festival invites film lovers to Rivoli

The opening session of Porto/Post/Doc International Film Festival drew crowds of moviegoing public to Rivoli, yesterday evening.

With a special focus on documentary film, this festival runs till 3 December, at Porto Municipal Theatre and at three other venues in the city of Porto.

On the opening night, the cinema and Audiovisual Institute (IAC) announced support for the coming editions of the festival, which is already supported by Porto City Hall.

The national preview of Sofia Coppola's most recent film, The Beguiled, was screened at the Rivoli. Written and directed by Sofia Coppola, this American Drama film depicts the American Civil War period and it is based on the novel of the same name (originally published as A Painted Devil) by Thomas P. Cullinan. It stars Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, and Elle Fanning.

This is the fourth edition of Porto/Post/Doc and it features 12 films for the main competition whilst screening about one hundred films till Sunday, 3 December at Porto Municipal Theatre - Rivoli, at Cinema Passos Manuel, at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Porto and at Maus Hábitos - Culture Intervention Space.
