Porto Municipal Gallery hosted 97 million visits in 2016, shattering this past two years' record. These record breaking numbers demonstrate the ongoing enthusiasm for the gallery's exhibitions.

The cultural offering of the gallery has been unparalleled. New must-see exhibitions, great weather, excellent facilities, all contributed to record visitor numbers.

The exhibition Eyes Wide Open - 100 Years of Photography Leica, inaugurated November 30th, welcomed more than 22,000 visitors - a new record of visits to the Municipal Gallery.

Two other exhibitions also show an increase in the numbers of visitors, in 2016, namely exhibition "P. - A tribute to Paulo Cunha e Silva, in extenso", organised by Porto City Hall and curated by Miguel von Hafe Peréz, (21,417 visitors) and the exhibition "100 Treasures of the Public Library of Porto" (20,011 visitors).
