The Portuguese application is the only to provide three available venues to host the seat of the European Medicines Agency (EMA).

The three options fulfil the requisite criteria in EMA's relocation process.

Two existing buildings - Palácio Atlântico and Palácio dos Correios - a building-site at Camilo Avenue are the options, and either case the premises will be ready to host EMA in April 2019. Common to all three possibilities are the workability, spaciousness, comfort and centeredness.

The Palácio Atlântico, at D. João I Square, right in the centre of the city, is a reference building that will be remodelled into a modern-time structure without losing its identity.

The project has a particularly distinct feature: the architectural design stimulates the healthy sociability among co-workers.

Right next to the Council Chambers, in Avenida dos Aliados, there is the Palácio dos Correios. Should this be the preferred option to host EMA, the building which has a significant impact on the urban landscape, will be revamped and will result in the creation of the perfect place to work, with interior gardens and resized areas.

The future Camilo Building, the sole one to be built from scratch, will present a surprising indoor and outdoor connection. It will be a sort of "hidden garden" within the city centre of Porto. The office rationale is overthrown and the result is the aesthetic flow of a sculpted office.

The three buildings are able to meet the optimum standards that EMA requires.

It is important to recall that Porto is among the five top performance cities in the application to host the European Medicines Agency (EMA), which will leave the United Kingdom because of Brexit.

In total, there are 19 applications to EMA's relocation. The chosen city will be announced on 20 November.
