Over 500 representatives of the event industry from many dozens of countries take part in the Bea World Festival 2017, to be held in Porto from 15 to 18 November.

After eleven editions targeted only to Europe, the initiative has gone global this year, with several projects from different continents competing for Bea (Best Events Awards) World, and Porto is the city chosen to embrace this challenge.

"What a better city to host this event, this new challenge? Porto and Portugal are really the centre of international attention", Salvatore Sagone, ACD Group CEO declared.

"We managed to bring the Bea World to Portugal and to Porto last year in St Petersburg" said Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira.

"We hope this is a huge success in a business area that is of particular importance to Portugal, where there will be Portuguese applications, most certainly. It is an opportunity as well to demonstrate what we do best in this new industry that we are developing in the country and also bring the industry to Portugal".

"We are dealing with major events, sponsored by the world's best brands and when we bring this kind of organisation to Porto, we open the door and put forward the best the city has to offer and our capacity for organisation. The city of Porto will be under the watchful eye of many people, agencies and companies", Mayor Rui Moreira stated at the event presentation.

This Bea World edition is organised by APECATE - Portuguese Association of Congresses, Tourism Animation and Events Companies.

The four-day event includes the Bea World Awards, with several competing categories and this year there are eight Portuguese finalist projects.

The 2017 edition has a record number of participating events/agencies. The worldwide nature of the event meant more participants and more applications, about 700.

Qatar, China, Brazil and the USA are the countries that participate in this festival where creativity meets business.
